A free workshop: Implementing and teaching CORE (28 Jan, UWE Bristol)

Wed 6th January 2016 | Blog

coreteachOn Thursday 28 January 2016, Professors Wendy Carlin and Sam Bowles from CORE’s steering committee will be hosting the first workshop on CORE teaching at the Centre for Global Finance, Faculty of Business & Law, UWE Bristol.

If you’re experimenting with the CORE material, or are considering introducing it in your economics course, you can find out how to make this a success first-hand from people who have been teaching using CORE. The workshop will cover:

  • How is CORE’s course different to a traditional text book?
  • What are the day-to-day challenges of CORE teaching, and how have our teachers tackled them successfully?
  • What do we (and will we) provide for teachers to help them teach?
  • What have we learned from our beta programme, and how are we going to improve CORE in the future?

Delegates will get a demonstration and preview of the additional resources we will be making available for teachers during 2016.

We have discovered that implementing an innovative new curriculum creates a lot of challenges, and we want to give you as much help as possible. If you can’t make it to Bristol, we’re planning more workshops during 2016: look out for information here, or on our Twitter feed (@coreeconteam).

Sign up for our UWE workshop at Eventbrite, here. Admission is free, but places are limited.
