In the third article in a series published by Il Sole 24 Ore, Wendy Carlin writes about the emerging paradigm in teaching economics which provides a very different vision of the economy from the Samuelsonian benchmark as taught in introductory courses. It is a paradigm that accords much more closely with the questions raised by students centred on the problems societies face.
