We are delighted to announce the release of chapters 1-4 of CORE’s latest textbook Understanding our Economy, for beginner and first-year economics students, students at two-year and four-year colleges and universities in North America, and high school students with an interest in economics.
Understanding our Economy continues CORE’s mission to modernize economics teaching with zero-cost, open-access texts for students and instructors. It’s packed with content built around case studies and topics that we know students care most about, such as the environment, the climate, inequality, and the cost of living.
Our latest textbook makes CORE’s pedagogy more accessible by assuming no prior background in economics, and using simplified mathematical concepts and models. The first four chapters are available now. The remaining 11 will follow in the coming months.
